Pope Francis condemns savage persecution of ISIS in Syria and Iraq

YEREVAN, MARCH 2, ARMENPRESS: Pope Francis condemned Thursday the savage persecution of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization against Christians in Syria and Iraq, Armenpress reports, citing the Syrian SANA Agency.
The Pope, during his traditional blessing on the occasion of Christmas, called for prevailing peace in the Middle East, stop massacres and acts of kidnappings and taking hostage.
AFP quoted the Pope in a televised letter as saying that many regions in the world are encountering terrorism at the hands of extremist groups, calling for ending the brutal persecution against ethnic and religious minorities in Syria and Iraq.
“I beg for God, the savior, to sympathize our brothers and sisters in Syria and Iraq who are being persecuted”, - the Pope said.
