YEREVAN, 26 FEBRUARY, ARMENPRESS. President of the Union of Writers of Armenia Eduard Militonyan suggests declaring the year 2016 as the Year of Literature in Armenia. This is what Militonyan mentioned during an event held at the Union of Writers of Armenia on February 26. “By declaring next year as the Year of Literature in Armenia, we will provide the opportunity to present the public with the works of classic and contemporary Armenian writers more broadly in different languages, expand the programs for publications and carry out other literary events,” Eduard Militonyan mentioned.

 The President of the Union of Writers of Armenia continued and mentioned that declaring next year as the Year of Literature will help expand reading, touch upon the improvement of the state of libraries and other cultural institutions once again so that people read more, have the desire to meet with writers and to have television and radio broadcast the works of current writers more.
