YEREVAN, 19 FEBRUARY, ARMENPRESS. On February19, Head of the Armenian Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov, who is in Vienna to participate in the winter sitting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA), had a meeting with OSCE PA Secretary General Spencer Oliver. As the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, the sides attached importance to further cooperation between the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

The sides discussed the situation in the South Caucasus and in Ukraine and attached importance to the peaceful regulation of all conflicts. Touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov emphasized the fact that the issue needs to be solved within the format of the OSCE Minsk Group and viewed Azerbaijan’s attempts to give a military solution to the issue as inadmissible.

 Talking about the 100^th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Eduard Sharmazanov voiced hope that the OSCE PA representatives would take part in the Armenian Genocide Centennial Commemoration ceremonies to be held in April 2015.
