Victoria Nuland refers to Azerbaijani diversionists’ act as horrible crime

YEREVAN, 18 FEBRUARY, ARMENPRESS. In Yerevan Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs at the United States Department of State Victoria Nuland talked about the Azerbaijani diversionists arrested in Stepanakert and referred to what they did, calling it a horrible crime. At the same time, Nuland called on the corresponding bodies to make a humanitarian gesture, but didn’t go into details.

When asked if she didn’t fear that Azerbaijan would declare the Azerbaijani diversionists as heroes as in the case of Safarov, Nuland said: “Of course, that is a horrible crime, but we urge the corresponding bodies to make a humanitarian gesture.” Touching upon the ceasefire violations on the Line of Contact, Nuland said the U.S. is very concerned about that.
