Sharmazanov: “RPA considers engaging Artsakh in Armenia’s domestic political issues
inadmissible”

YEREVAN, 4 FEBRUARY, ARMENPRESS. The Republican Party of Armenia considers engaging the Artsakh Republic in Armenia’s domestic political issues and in the plans of different political forces of Armenia inadmissible. This is what Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, speaker of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Eduard Sharmazanov announced during a press conference following the session of the RPA Executive Body. “Artsakh is a de facto independent republic with its elected President, National Assembly and Constitution, and to engage Artsakh in Armenia’s issues is not right, to say the least. We have never shared Armenia’s problems with Artsakh and have never presented ourselves as members of this or that political party. We have presented ourselves as members of a legislative body. What happened is unpleasant, and they are taking a step that is against the Republic of Armenia. What were they doing in Artsakh? If it’s a struggle, come and lead a struggle in the patio of the Opera,” Sharmazanov mentioned, as “Armenpress” reports.

Touching upon the actions of the Police of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic in Berdzor, Sharmazanov emphasized that the Police of Artsakh has issued a statement stating everything and that he has nothing more to add.
