Armenian artist’s painting Broken Childhood wins contest devoted to Holocaust

YEREVAN, JANUARY 31, ARMENPRESS. The painting titled Broken Childhood by the young Armenian artist Mikayel Harutyunyan won the first prize at the 9th international contest dedicated to Holocaust. The aforesaid contest was held on January 23-26 in Moscow. About 1200 participants from 8 countries of the world participated in the event.
In a conversation with “Armenpress”, the 17-years old artist stated that the Jewish community of Armenia informed him about the contest. “This was the first time Armenia participated in the event. Everybody had a very positive attitude towards Armenia and the Armenian people. We underscored that denial of the Armenian Genocide led to Holocaust,” Harutyunyan concluded.
