Vigen Sargsyan: “Those hoping to sigh in relief after the Armenian Genocide Centennial are
dead wrong”

YEREVAN, 30 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. Those who hope they’ll be able to sigh with relief after the year 2015 are dead wrong. This is what Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic of Armenia, Coordinator of the State Commission on Coordination of Events Dedicated to the 100thAnniversary of the Armenian Genocide Vigen Sargsyan said during a January 30 press conference. “The events of April 24 are the climax of the events that are scheduled to be held on the occasion of the 100thanniversary of the Armenian Genocide. There are specific hours and dates for the events to be held throughout the year. It doesn’t end with April 24th,” Vigen Sargsyan emphasized in response to “Armenpress”’s question.

According to Vigen Sargsyan, it would be wrong to think that the spirit of the struggle in the Armenian Diaspora will die after the events marking the 100thanniversary. “Today we see the young generation uniting around regional committees. We see events that will become traditional. They won’t be held for only one year, just like the Armenian Genocide didn’t begin and end in one day,” Vigen Sargsyan emphasized.
