YEREVAN, 27 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. The Police of the Republic of Armenia denies rumors that a soldier of the 102nd Russian military base has escaped. As the Police of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, the rumors are false. “The news about the soldier that escaped from the Russian military base is not true,” as the press service of the Police of the Republic of Armenia reports.

 There were rumors in Gyumri that another soldier had escaped from the Russian military base, causing panic in the city.

 Representatives of the 102nd Russian military base stationed in Gyumri also assured Gyumri Municipality that rumors about the escape of another soldier were false. This is what the mayor’s press speaker Lilit Makaryan told “Armenpress”. “Mayor of Gyumri Samvel Balasanyan had a telephone conversation with the commanders of the 102nd Russian military base and the Consul of the Russian Federation in Gyumri in relation to the rumors spread in Gyumri about the escape of another soldier. The commanders and the Consul denied the rumors, mentioning that they are false and are misinformation,” Lilit Makaryan mentioned.
