YEREVAN, 27 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. The situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is unacceptable for the military and political elite of the Republic of Armenia. The situation is also unacceptable for the Armenian people. Therefore, according to Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan, there has to be a clear decision. “Either we have to maintain the ceasefire regime, or take adequate measures to impose peace on Azerbaijan. If, in the political sense, Azerbaijan’s doesn’t understand that it has to maintain peace and respect the ceasefire agreement, then we have to give an adequate response to any violation that it commits. The tension and restrictions are ongoing. Therefore, there is a need for preventive actions, and we have the potential,” Seyran Ohanyan said during a press conference wrapping up the activities carried out last year, as “Armenpress” reports.

 The minister mentioned that the year 2014 was a year of achievements and a year for stabilization and strengthening of the military positions for Armenia and the Armenian army. “This year will be a year of more achievements and a year for further reinforcement of our military positions to prove that they were not by chance and that they were the result of the entire personnel’s self-dedicated service. In this case, we’ll achieve success,” Ohanyan said.
