Armenian FM not scheduled to visit Krakow
YEREVAN, 24 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan is not scheduled to visit Krakow. As press speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Balayan reports, Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ashot Hovakimyan will be leaving for Poland.
As “Armenpress” reports, Poland will be marking the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp located 60 km away from Krakow on January 27. Nearly 1,100,000 people died at the Auschwitz concentration camp during WWII, of which 90 percent were Jews. On January 27, 1945, the camp was liberated by the Soviet army. The United Nations has declared the day of liberation of the camp as International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust.
