Azerbaijani saboteur intends to apply to Karabakh president for pardon

YEREVAN, JANUARY 24, ARMENPRESS: Dilham Askerov, who illegally crossed the Nagorno Karabakh Republic state border from Shahumyan region side and was sentenced to life imprisonment by NKR Court of First Instance, doesn't want to appeal the verdict of the Court. Armenpress reports that the advocate of Askerov Erik Beglaryan told the aforementioned information in the interview with Artsakhpress, adding that his client still had time to make a decision. "I saw the defendant after the verdict, he said he didn't want to appeal, and was likely to benefit from the opportunity to request the President for pardon," said the lawyer.  
Earlier it was reported that two members of Azerbaijani intelligence-diversion group - Shahbaz Guliyev and Dilham Askerov, who illegally crossed the NKR state border from Shahumyan region side in July last year and were charged for espionage, illegal carrying of firearms and ammunition, were convicted of murder by the Court of First Instance and were sentenced to 22 years in prison and life imprisonment respectively on December 29.
