Armenia sees decrease in cases of acts committed to cause harm intentionally, racketeering and hooligan acts committed through the use of weapons
YEREVAN, 23 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. Chief of Police of the Republic of Armenia, Lieutenant General Vladimir Gasparyan moderated a session of the advisory board of the Police of the Republic of Armenia. As the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Police of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, among the participants of the session were members of the advisory board, as well as heads of the central apparatus and regional and territorial subdivisions.
The police chief’s first deputy, Police Lieutenant General Hunan Poghosyan delivered a report on the results of operative-official service of the Police’s services and territorial bodies in 2014. Poghosyan mentioned that there has been a decrease in the number of cases of acts committed to cause harm intentionally, racketeering and hooligan acts committed through the use of weapons. In the reporting period, police have revealed 18.2% more cases of illegal circulation of weapons and ammunition. Police have confiscated 934 firearms, which have been voluntarily submitted through explanations.
