YEREVAN, 23 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. The solemn opening ceremony of the bust of one of Europe’s greatest writers, British poet, great Armenologist and great friend of the Armenian nation, Lord Byron (George Gordon) was held near the main office of ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK at 1 Byron Street in Yerevan on January 22. Since its foundation, ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK has actively participated in the cultural events organized in Armenia and always supports the implementation of different kinds of cultural programs. Staying true to its traditions, the Bank and sculptor Hayk Tokmajyan undertook the initiative of implementing another cultural program within the frames of the Bank’s social responsibility program.

As “Armenpress” reports, attaching importance to the strengthening of Armenian-British relations and the great British poet’s contributions to Armenology, ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK decided to fill the gap and placed a monument to the great figure. The bust of the great writer had been ready and was placed on the wall of the main office of ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK at 1 Byron Street for the past couple of months, but the solemn opening ceremony of the bust was scheduled for January 22, which marks Lord Byron’s birthday.
