Armenia got lowest maternal and child death indicator in CIS

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS: Armenia will appear in low risk zone with the maternal and infant mortality rates in case of the current decrease trends. The Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia Armen Muradyan stated about it at the annual press conference, touching upon the achievements in health sector.
“The basic health indicators are determined by several factors. First, it is the average life duration, which has a direct impact on the mortality rate. With this indicator, Armenia is considered to be one of the best among the CIS countries. The average life duration is 77 years for women and 71,5 for men. The next is the maternal and infant mortality indicator, in case of which there is a decrease trend. We are entering a low risk zone, if these trends continue. Compared with similar countries, Armenia is on the best place with its indicators”, - said Armen Muradyan, Armenpress reports.
