Government

YEREVAN, 24 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. An agreement “On Construction of a New Bridge on the Debed River at the Bagratashen-Sadakhlo Passing Point on the State Border of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Georgia between the Governments of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Georgia” was signed at the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the presence of Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan. As the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Government of the Republic of Armenia reports to ”ArmenPress”, the document was signed by Minister of Transport and Communication Gagik Beglaryan on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and by Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Stable Development Georgi Kvirikashvili on behalf of the Government of Georgia.

 During the official visit of Armenia’s Prime Minister to Georgia from December 11 to 12, 2014, Armenia’s Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili had initially signed the above mentioned agreement and had also signed a protocol, reaching an agreement on having the agreement signed before 2015 and to name the new bridge between Armenia and Georgia as the “Bridge of Friendship”. The signing ceremony was followed by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan’s meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Stable Development Georgi Kvirikashvili, who is also co-chair of the Armenian-Georgian working group for trade and economy.
