YEREVAN, 24 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. Being members of different unions won’t hinder the trade and economic relations between Armenia and Georgia. This is what Georgia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Stable Development Georgi Kvirikashvili announced after the second session of the Armenian-Georgian joint working group in Yerevan. According to him, Georgia will do everything possible to make sure the strengthening of cooperation with the European Union is compatible with the cooperation with Armenia. “We have ample time to discuss all the technical issues in relation to that. Georgia will do everything possible to make sure Armenia and Georgia maintain active trade and economic relations. Armenia is one of Georgia’s major trading partners. Armenia is one of Georgia’s top ten trading partners, and we’ll do everything possible for the development of these relations,” Kvirikashvili announced, as “ArmenPress” reports.

 Kvirikashvili noted that the states have a couple of years as a transitional period and will try to maintain the current customs rates. “We’ll do everything we can to make sure the customs rates remain the same. We have the opportunity to start discussions on changes in commerce,” he said.
