YEREVAN, 20 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. President of Cuba Raul Castro has declared that Cuba welcomes the U.S. President’s decision to turn a new page in the relations between the two countries. “We welcome Obama’s decision to turn a new page in the relations between the two countries and to make changes in the policy that the U.S. government has been leading in Cuba for the past 50 years. We are grateful for the intention to discuss the issue of lifting the blockade against Cuba in Congress,” Castro said, as “ArmenPress” reports. 

According to Castro, Cuba shares the view that a new page can be turned in the relations between the two countries. “The U.S. government has taken an important step, but the most important thing is to lift the blockade that has become more restricted over the past couple of years, especially in the financial sector,” Castro mentioned, as RIA-Novosti reports.
