CB sold USD 1.7 million
18:09, 20 December 2014YEREVAN, 20 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. The Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia held its 11th dollar auction. As the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Central Bank reports to “ArmenPress”, the Central Bank declared a USD 4 million auction. Armenia’s trade banks presented a demand for USD 1.7 million. The Central Bank sold USD 1.7 million at an average exchange rate of AMD 446.76 for USD 1, and the marginal rate was AMD 445.00 for USD 1.
The Central Bank has already distributed USD 42 million after making an announcement about dollar auctions on December 8. The Central Bank’s introduction of this new instrument was aimed at regulating the situation in the currency market and smoothen the shifts in the foreign exchange market.
