94 economic entities temporarily terminated activities due to dollar hike

YEREVAN, 20 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. Based on the results of a study on economic entities conducted by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia starting from December 15th, out of the tens of thousands of organizations in Armenia, there is almost no Armenian organization that has terminated activities due to the shifts in the foreign exchange market. This is what Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Finance Armen Alaverdyan announced during a December 20 press conference, touching upon the rumors that many economic entities had terminated their activities due to the shifts in the foreign exchange market.

The Deputy Minister clarified that those rumors were not true. “As of December 16 and 17, some economic entities temporarily terminated their activities, but a day later, they restarted their activities. As of December 17, 94 economic entities had temporarily terminated their activities, of which 90 restarted their activities a day later. Today, 8 economic entities have restarted their activities,” Armen Alaverdayn said, mentioning that the Ministry of Finance is explaining to economic entities that Armenia’s economy is currently stable, as “ArmenPress” reports.
