Film “Field” devoted to Armenian Genocide Centennial is about faith in love and in the future

YEREVAN, 11 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. Filmmakers Arsen Azatyan and Narine Mkrtchyan are shooting a feature film called “The Field” ahead of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. One of the main characters of the film, a German military doctor takes photos of a railway under construction in the eastern sector of Turkey and witnesses the forceful massacres and deportations of the Armenian population. The other character is Komitas, who is preparing for a concert, without knowing what is awaits him and the Armenian people. “ArmenPress” presents details about the film.

Repeat what will be impossible to repeat…

“The idea is irreversibility. The story is about the genocide. No matter how much we interact with real people and learn about their emotions, destinies, experiences and horrible situations, if we can describe it in one phrase, the film is about faith in love and in the future. There are situations that we don’t want to remember, and there are situations about which we can talk about only once. In this case, it is our duty to repeat what will be impossible to repeat,” Narine Mkrtchyan says.
