YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS: On 24 November the President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan visited in Los Angeles the Primacy of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church and met there its Primate, Archbishop Hovnan Derderyan, a group of representatives of the Primacy Council and the local Armenian Community.

The Central Information Department of the Artsakh President’s Office informed Armenpress that the Head of the State rated high the activity of the Western Diocese of the South USA in supporting Artsakh, preserving the Armenian national identity in the Diaspora and strengthening the Motherland-Diaspora ties, adding that the Armenian Apostolic Church was one of the cornerstones of the independent Armenian statehood and had invaluable input in developing and strengthening it. 

President Sahakyan also touched upon foreign and domestic policy of Artsakh, social-economic development and answered to questions raised by the attendees. 

Vice-premier Arthur Aghabekyan, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the USA Tigran Sargsyan, and other officials participated in the meeting.
