Cyprus National Agency joins BSANNA

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS: The members of the Black Sea Association of National News Agencies approved by voting the application of the Cyprus National Agency (CNA) to join BSANNA. The Turkish representative did not participate in the voting, despite the fact that standards and values of journalistic professionalism propagated by BSANNA exclude mixing and confusing journalism with politics. At the session it was decided to hold the 8th summit of BSANNA in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.

"In the 21st century the protection and security of the journalists is a primary problem, as there are many violence cases against the journalists taking place", - the General Director of the Bulgarian News Agency BTA Maxim Minchev stated about it at the 7th session of the General Assembly of the Black Sea Association of National News Agencies, held in Yerevan. "We should direct our efforts to the solution of that challenge and fight against all the obstacles. The protection of the rights of the journalists is of primary importance and our task is to create a strong organization, the voice of which will be heard in the international arena", - said Minchev, Armenpress reports.
