Armenia’s delegate to Junior Eurovision 2014 feeling determined

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS. Tonight the 12th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place on the island of Malta. 16 countries are taking part in the 2014 edition (with Italy, Montenegro and Slovenia all making their debut). 11-year old Betty will represent Armenia at the international song contest under number 12. She will perform song titled “The People of the Sun”.

In a conversation with “Armenpress”, the PR Manager of Armenia’s Public TV Arusyak Zakharyan stated that our little participant is in a fighting mood.

Among other things, Zakharyan underscored: “Despite the fact that Betty has caught a cold, she continues the preparations and she spares no effort to perform well. Betty is a very bright child and she’ll do her best not to leave a single person in the hall in a sorrow. She’ll try to convey smiles and warmth to the audience and Betty is hopeful that they will enjoy her performance.”

The contest will be staged in Malta Shipbuilding in the town of Marsa in Malta, with an audience of around 5000 in the arena, and millions more expected to be watching around the world.

For the first time since the Junior Eurovision Song Contest started in 2003 the spectacular show will feature just one presenter; Moira Delia - who has hosted previous editions of the Maltese national selection for Europe's Favourite Tv Show.

The running for tonight's show was determined at the Opening Ceremony which took place at the Verdala Palace in Malta on Sunday the 9th of November. Malta selected their running order position completely at random, whilst the remaining participants drew out first and second halves of the running order, with positions 1 and 16 also being decided at random.

Following the draw, the production team met in a room in the Verdala Palace to finalise the order.
