EU to grant 34.387 million Euros to Armenia

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 29, ARMENPRESS: The European Union will extend to Armenia both categorical and direct grants in 2015, Deputy Finance Minister Pavel Safaryan said at the joint sitting of the RA National Assembly Standing Committees on State and Legal Affairs and Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, Armenpress reports.

Categorical grants are grants, which may be spent only for narrowly defined purposes. Armenia will receive a categorical grant of 14 million 387 thousand Euros for implementation of concrete projects, said Pavel Safaryan.

Armenia will also be allocated direct grants of 20 million Euros. Pavel Safaryan detailed that the direct grant is a support directed to the state budget, and the Government of Armenia will administer the granted money. “Taken as a whole, we will get an amount of 34.387 million Euros from the European Union,” Pavel Safaryan stressed.
