Armenian Prelate of Aleppo offers liturgy in New Jersey
YEREVAN, OCTOBER 28, ARMENPRESS. His Eminence Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian, Prelate of Aleppo, paid a visit to the regions of the Eastern Diocese of the United States of America including Boston, Philadelphia, New York, and New Jersey within the framework of his visit to North America for the assistance to the Syrian-Armenians and the activities of “School” Foundation of the Prelacy of Aleppo. “Armenpress” reports about this citing “The Beroea News” facebook page. His Eminence Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian, Prelate of Aleppo, offered liturgy in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church of New Jersey.
Previously Armenian Weekly reported that His Eminence Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian, Prelate of Aleppo, has been meeting with members of the Armenian communities across the U.S., to brief on the Syrian crisis and the Syrian Armenian community, and to raise funds for relief efforts. Archbishop Sarkissian arrived in California on Oct. 13, and has now made his way to the East coast.
On Oct. 22, the Archbishop, accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan, Prelate of the Eastern U.S., visited the Hairenik building and granted an interview to the Armenian Weekly, which will be published in an upcoming issue. That same day, he gave a public briefing at the St. Stephen’s Church in Watertown, organized by the ARS Leola Sassouni and Shushi chapters.
