YEREVAN, OCTOBER 23, ARMENPRESS: President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received today Foreign Minister of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who is in Yerevan on an official visit, President’s Press Office informed Armenpress .

Armenian President welcomed Frank-Walter Steinmeier’s visit to our country, stressing that Germany is a very important partner and friend for Armenia, and the frequent mutual visits and contacts will promote development of the interstate relations.

Serzh Sargsyan stated with gratification that since establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Armenian-German cooperation agenda has notably expanded and has been enhanced by the agreements that reach up to about 60 and that have conveyed a new quality to the interstate relations.

Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that this is his first visit to Armenia in the new office and he aims to activate the Armenian-German political dialogue and deepen the friendly relations through his visit.

Besides discussing issues of the Armenian-German bilateral agenda, Serzh Sargsyan and the German Foreign Minister also referred to Armenia-European Union relations, exchanged views on regional issues and challenges.

The interlocutors also dwelled on the latest developments over the Nagorno Karabakh conflict negotiation process and the prospects.
