Social business in Armenia: Blind masseurs in demand

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 23, ARMENPRESS: According to the official data, 196,703 handicapped are registered in the Republic of Armenia. 110,000 of them are employable due to their age, though only 8-9% is working. The work issue of the handicapped in Armenia is regulated by the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia.
According to the 3rd article of the Law of the Republic of Armenia on “Social Protection of Handicapped”, the handicapped have the same rights, freedoms and obligations provided by the Law and the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, as the other people. But can all of them use their rights?
Different programs have been developed on the state level to provide the people with special needs with employment. In particular, since 2014 up to 500,000 drams is allocated with the “Workplace adjustment program” to the employers, who are ready to employ handicapped.
