Turkish suggest making steps “towards Armenians” without recognizing Genocide

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 20, ARMENPRESS: Ahead of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide, Turkey proposes “new approaches”. In the Star Periodical the Government of Turkey is advised to make steps “towards Armenians” without recognizing the Armenian Genocide. Armenpress reports that the article advises the Government of Turkey to “keep in the center of attention” the Armenians, left for Turkey to work, and reconstruct Ani.
The article says that to “improve” the impression of the international community about Turkey, it is possible “to make some continuative steps without recognizing the Armenian Genocide”.
According to the article, it is possible to do in two directions: first – to create conditions for work for the Armenians left for Turkey to work. The second direction relates to Ani, the ancient capital of Armenia.
“Ani is the center of the belief for the Armenians. And it is of importance for us too. Ravaged for many years, Ani is on the border of Armenia. As well as the Holy Cross Church of Akhtamar, Ani too, must be reconstructed within a short period with the involvement of international consultants and foreign development companies. After the revival of its constructions, this town must be open for the Armenians, and they must not be required to have a visa or passport to enter here to see their spiritual values”, - says the newspaper.
