YEREVAN, OCTOBER 20, ARMENPRESS: The deputy of the Heritage Party faction of the National Assembly Zaruhi Postanjyan presented to the Government of the Republic of Armenia a draft bill package on making amendments to the Laws of the Republic of Armenia on “Condemnation of the Genocides of Pontus Greeks, Assyrians, Yazidis and other nations in the Ottoman Empire” and on “Armenia's holidays and days of remembrance”.
Armenpress reports that the issue is included in the agenda of the October 23 session of the Government. “The Government of the Republic of Armenia considers it expedient to make December 9 as the all genocides’ victims’ commemoration day instead of the presented proposal, taking into account the fact that the United Nations adopted the “Convention for the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide” on December 9 1948”, - says the conclusion of the Executive on the package.
