YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 30, ARMENPRESS: National Assembly Deputy Speaker, head of Armenia-Latvia friendship group Eduard Sharmazanov met with Latvian Ambassador to Armenia Elita Gavele and political director at Latvian Foreign Ministry Juris Poikans.

National Assembly press service informed Armenpress that Honorary Consul of the Republic of Latvia in Armenia Armen Ghasaboghlyan attended the meeting.

Eduard Sharmazanov stressed that Armenia highlights cooperation with Latvia both in bilateral format and within the framework of the EU Eastern Partnership. He stressed that continuation of the political dialogue with the EU Eastern Partnership is among Armenia’s political priorities and noted that Latvia can be an effective bridge in that issue.

Issues related to further development of Armenian-Latvian relations and deepening of inter-parliamentary ties were referred at the meeting.
