Armenian soldier’s death case not to remain unpunished: Seyran Ohanyan

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS: Violation of the ceasefire regime by Azerbaijan, in consequence of which an Armenian soldier was killed, proves that country excludes implementation of any event directed toward formation of atmosphere of trust, Defense Minister of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan told journalists at Yerevan State Medical University.

“They refuse to withdraw the snipers, to refrain from shooting, from subversive investigative activities and implementation of international investigation. Every time these violations are ignored in the international arena and only become a result of analysis for the commanders of the Armed Forces of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh Defense Army, who independently implement punitive measures,” said Seyran Ohanyan, Armenpress reports.

He assured that the death case of the Armenian soldier will not remain unpunished by the Nagorno Karabakh Army. “This happens because the rival tries to violate the ceasefire regime during all international meetings and events and to cause tension on the border. It is because of purposeless and irresponsible treatment that both parties register losses. The life of every soldier and officer is precious for us. It is they that do not appreciate their soldiers,” stressed the Minister.

On September 18 at around 09:15 o’clock, Mher H. Hakobyan (born in 1990) received a lethal gunshot wound from the rival’s bullet in the military position located in the southern direction of the line of contact of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing armies.
