Karabakh authorities’ opinion should be taken into account in negotiations: Warlick

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS: The US Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick considers the participation of the Karabakh authorities in the negotiations process to be important. “It is quite important that in the negotiations process the voice of the “de facto” Nagorno Karabakh authorities sounds. That is the reason we, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, often visit the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and meet with the local authorities to take their opinion into account as well”. Armenpress reports that the US Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick stated about it on September 16 at the meeting with the journalists held at the US Embassy in Armenia.
Warlick stated that one of the biggest problems in the negotiations process is the lack of trust between the sides. “I have noticed that both during the meetings with the local officials and in Baku. OSCE has made proposals directed to mutual trust establishment, though it is necessary that the sides accept them”, - said the diplomat.
