First technology center opens in Gyumri

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS: Gyumri will become the second technocity after Yerevan. The large-scale program of reconstructing Gyumri into a technocity launched with the opening ceremony of Gyumri’s technopark. As Armenpress reports, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan attended the opening ceremony. After investment of AMD 700 million and preliminary works of 6 years the technopark opened its doors in front of IT enterprises.

Director of Enterprise Incubator Foundation Bagrat Yengibaryan said that Gyumri’s technopark will have not only an educational, but also a scientific and research center, where local and international authoritative organizations will extend activity.

“Afterward analogical centers will open in Vanadzor and Stepanakert as well. These centers will create educational environment, as well as will afford a job opportunity to IT sphere specialists. Here already work some companies, and currently negotiations are carried out with international “National Instruments”, “Clean Tech”, “Nokia, Digital Pomegranate” and other companies,” Bagrat Yengibaryan noted.
