YEREVAN, AUGUST 29, ARMENPRESS: The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan will gladly vote for a woman president in case she would be able to solve the problems the country faces. The President stated about it at the meeting with the winners of “Kangaroo” international mathematics competition, medal graduates of 2013-2014 academic years, and pupils winning international Olympiads in his residence, answering to the question of one of the pupils will he be against a woman president of Armenia 20-25 years after. “At that time I will be 85 and will gladly vote for a woman presidential candidate if only the mere fact of being a woman is not going to be her advantage. First, the president should see the problems and be able to overcome the obstacles on the way of resolving them”, - said Serzh Sargsyan.

The President stated that as the President of a party and a country he would like to see a bigger involvement of women in the pubic positions. “You could have seen that in the parliamentary elections of 2012 we tripled the number of women deputies. We have women ministers in our Government. Some think that women work more properly. Besides, the corruption risks in case of women are considerably low”, - said Serzh Sargsyan, adding that nevertheless one should be able to go through a difficult way, Armenpress reports.

The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan hosted the winners of “Kangaroo” international mathematics competition, medal graduates of 2013-2014 academic years, and pupils winning international Olympiads in his residence. The President welcomed the present and former pupils and stated that he is proud of them and called them Heroes. Among other things, the President underscored: “Good for you, you are the future of our country, we all are proud of you. We are proud not less than your parents and teachers. I would like all our citizens to be such conscientious like you and work and learn as effectively as you. I consider it very important that your achievements will continue in the future.” According to the President, one must work hard and constantly and improve himself. The President highlighted: “There are only few examples, when the pupil doesn’t do his best during studies, but in future reaches great success due to his work and commitment.”
