YEREVAN, AUGUST 20, ARMENPRESS. The economic activity index in Armenia in January-July 2014 is by 4.1 percent more than that of the same period of the previous year. As reports "Armenpress", the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia has introduced the preliminary main macro-economic indicators obtained by the current-operative summary, which describes the country's socio-economic situation. Almost in all sectors a growth tendency is maintained, except for the electricity production sector. Within the conditions of the global financial and economic crisis after the collapse of the construction sector in Armenia, the recorded growth in the previous six months has been preserved amounting to 0.5 percent (159 billion 938.6 million).

As compared to January-July of 2013, this year the volume of services has increased by 5.5 percent to AMD 599 billion 550.8 million, while the volume of gross agricultural output- by 3.2 percent to 316 billion 098.2 million drams. Trade turnover has increased by 5.6 percent to 1 triliard 213 billion 366.2 million drams.
