For Motherland it is important to first ensure security of Karabakh: Armenia's PM

TSAGHKADZOR, AUGUST 19, ARMENPRESS. Armenia's authorities are doing everything to avoid conflict, but in case a war is imposed, the Armenian people is ready to defend the motherland, its borders and to win. On August 18, at the opening ceremony of Baze (Falcon) 2014 annual All-Armenian youth gathering, in response to a question by a young participant, said Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan. "It was proved by the worthy counterblast given during these days by our soldiers in response to the enemy’s provocations on the contact line, and it seems by the self-confident posture of our President at Sochi presidential meeting for our soldiers, our army and our achievements in those days," as reports “Armenpress”, noted the Prime Minister, underlining that a soldier's loss is a tragedy for us – Armenians.

Speaking of depression in the Azerbaijani army, the Prime Minister stressed that the Azerbaijani leadership is to blame for it, instigating a war, which will bring no benefit to them. According to him, Azerbaijan's belligerent behavior, as well as the domestic pressure applied against civic and human rights activists, the encroachments against democracy and freedom, will take that country to destruction.

"In any case, our safety starts from Karabakh. For Motherland it is important to first ensure the safety of Artsakh. This is the guarantee of Armenia's security and I will create all the possibilities so that Artsakh becomes a safer country, which is immediately connected with Armenia's security," concluded Hovik Abrahamyan.
