If Armenian Genocide was condemned, there would not be new genocides in 21st century:

YEREVAN, AUGUST 18, ARMENPRESS. As a nation who has survived the genocide, the Armenians must impartially condemn the genocidal actions perpetrated against the Yezidis in Northern Iraq, in order to prevent repeat in the 21st century what happened to the Armenians in the 20th century. As reports "Armenpress", during a meeting with the journalists, this was said by Turkologist Ruben Melkonyan, adding that within its capacities Armenia and the Armenians should also help the friendly people.

The events taking place in the Middle East today, the expert, first of all, qualifies as the demonstration of the dual policy of the West. "In Iraq, our friendly people - the Yezidis are today being subjected to genocide by the same groups that were planning to perpetrate it in Kessab and which they did in Syria, and the West was presenting it as a triumphant march of Democracy. On the other hand, these groups formed with the support of the West, today have become a headache for the West itself," said the Turkologist.

As for Turkey's participation Melkonyan said that Turkey has an immense role in the support of the radical Islamists.

In Northern Iraq, the Yezidis are being intentionally killed on religious grounds, and the deliberate destruction of any group on religious distinction is genocide.

The legal definition of the genocide is found in the 1948 United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG). Article 2 of this convention defines genocide as "any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: killing members of the group; causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life, calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; (and) forcibly transferring children of the group to another group."
