Armenian-Japanese landslide management program kicks off
YEREVAN, AUGUST 12, ARMENPRESS. The Ministry of Emergency Situation of the Republic of Armenia and Japan International Cooperation Agency continue to deepen their cooperation. On August 12, the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia Armen Yeritsyan and representative of Uzbekistan’s JICA Office Iida Jiro signed the regulating documents for the Armenian-Japanese three-year program of landslide management. The event was held in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia.
The representative of Uzbekistan’s JICA Office Iida Jiro also highly appreciated the cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia, stressing that launching a new program will help to reduce damage from landslides.
Then the head of Expert Group of JICA Yano San presented the action plan within the framework of the project. He mentioned that the landslide-prone areas in the Republic of Armenia will be stadied and the data database on landslides will be updated.
