YEREVAN, AUGUST 1, ARMENPRESS. The number of permanent population in Armenia by July 1 reaches 3 million 009 thousand 800 people. 1 million 097 thousand 900 people of them live in villages, while 1 million 911 thousand and 900 people in cities. The National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia informed “Armenpress” that population in Yerevan reaches to 1 million 069 thousand people.

Among Armenia’s provinces Armavir has the maximum population 266 thousands, then come Ararat province with 261 thousand people, Kotayk province with 253 thousand people, Shirak province with 247.3 thousand people and Lori with 233.2  thousand people.

The Syunik province has less population has with 140.5 thousand people, Aragatsotn province - 131 thousand and Tavush - 126.4 thousand people. Vayots Dzor has the least population with 51.4 thousand people.
