Consumer prices reduced by 0.9 percent in July

YEREVAN, JULY 31, ARMENPRESS. In July 2014 compared with June a 0.9 percent deflation in Armenia's consumer market was observed. The prices of food products (including alcoholic beverages and tobacco) fell by 1.9 percent and non-food products - by 0.3 percent, and the service sector registered a 0.4 percent increase in the general level of prices. As "Armenpress" was informed from the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia, in July 2014 compared with December of 2013, the index of consumer prices stood at 98.1 percent, including food products (including alcoholic beverages and tobacco) - 96.8 per cent, non-food products - 98.5 percent, and service prices - 100.4 percent.

In January-July of 2014 the average monthly decrease of consumer prices was up to 0.3 percent (in the same period of previous year a 0.5 percent growth was recorded).

In July 2014 compared with July of 2013 the consumer prices index amounted to 100.4 percent, including food products (including alcoholic beverages and tobacco) - 99.2 percent, non-food goods - 101.1 percent and service prices - 102.2 percent,  and in January-July in comparison with January-July  of 2013, respectively - 103.4 percent, 101.8 percent, 102.2 percent and 107.3 percent.
