YEREVAN, JULY 30, ARMENPRESS. On July 30 the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received the Canadian Minister of Employment and Social Development and Minister for Multiculturalism, member of the House of Commons Jason Kenney. President Serzh Sargsyan welcomed the guest and said that Jason Kenney is distinguished for his special attention and active participation in the most important issues for Armenia and the Armenian people and, therefore, is always an expected and desired guest in Armenia.

As "Armenpress" was informed from the Department of Information and Public Relations of the President’s Office, Serzh Sargsyan believes that Minister Jason Kenney with his sincere and consistent work brings his own special contribution to the strengthening of the Armenian-Canadian friendship, for which President Sargsyan thanked the high ranking guest and assured that Armenia is interested in deepening and strengthening relations with Canada both in bilateral and multilateral formats. The two sides highly evaluated the current level of the Armenian-Canadian interstate relations which is based, according to the interlocutors, on the commonness of the Christian values of both peoples as well. Jason Kenney said that his great desire to visit Armenia is fulfilled, which is a wonderful opportunity to learn not only about the present Republic of Armenia, but also to get familiar with the rich culture and spiritual values of the centuries-old history of Armenia and the Armenian people​​, in general. He underscored that this visit is the evidence of readiness to strengthen bilateral relations and develop cooperation in areas of mutual interest, as well as to promote trade and economic ties.
