YEREVAN, JULY 22, ARMENPRESS. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandian, the Prefect of Rhône-Alpes Jean-François Carenco, the Mayor of Lyon, Senator Gérard Collomb, and the President of the General Council of Rhône Danielle Chuzeville participated in the solemn ceremony of opening of the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in Lyon. The event was held on July 21. Charles Aznavour, French MPs, political, public and cultural figures, as well as heads of the Armenian community organizations and mass media representatives attended the event. The Press, Information, and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia informed “Armenpress” that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia of Armenia Edward Nalbandian made remarks at the event and highlighted the importance of establishment of the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in Lyon and noted that Lyon and Rhône-Alpes region play a significant role in the development of the Armenian-French ties and comprehensive cooperation.
