Politologist rules out Azerbaijan's military intervention in Karabakh issue

YEREVAN, JULY 9, ARMENPRESS.  Azerbaijan’s current situation does not allow it to choose a military way in the Karabakh conflict settlement. In a meeting with the reporters this was said by politologist Alexander Margarov speaking about the Azeri President Ilham Aliyev’s statement made a day before, according to which Azerbaijan is expanding its potential and is "able" to solve the problem in a military way. The Azerbaijani leader also stated that Azerbaijan uses political and economic factors for peaceful solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. According to the Armenian politologist these statements have no serious implication, as the Azerbaijani officials have repeatedly spoken about the continuation of the negotiation process on the Karabakh issue. "In their speeches they repeatedly say that the negotiations are ongoing and the negotiation process has its role in the conflict. It is natural that at the same time there are also statements that relate to the military solution of the issue. They regularly speak about the training of their military and so on, but it is clear that the current situation of Azerbaijan does not allow it to use the military supply that has been acquired over the years," as reports “Armenpress”, said Margarov.
