YEREVAN, JULY 4, ARMENPRESS. Today, on the occasion of America’s Independence Day, President Serzh Sargsyan visited the U.S. Ambassador's residence in Armenia. On the occasion of the holiday, Serzh Sargsyan congratulated Ambassador John Heffern, and on his behalf, the staff of the Embassy and all the people of the United States. As “Armenpress” was informed from the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the President’s Office, the President of the Republic of Armenia also sent a congratulatory message to the U.S. President Barack Obama, which reads:

“Distinguished Mr. President,

I cordially congratulate you and the friendly people of the United States of America on the occasion of the Independence Day, wishing peace, prosperity and success in all of your undertakings.

We deeply value our friendship with the United States and are pleased that by our mutual efforts we have raised the bilateral partnership to a qualitatively new level. We attach importance to the deepening of the Armenian-American multilateral cooperation, your support in the implementation of reforms and establishment of democracy in Armenia, as well as the expansion of the American involvement in Armenia's economy.

Stressing the importance of the ongoing involvement of the U.S., as the Co-Chair country of the OSCE Minsk Group, in the process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, we anticipate continuation of active mediation, for the sake of a stable and lasting peace in the South Caucasus".
