YEREVAN, JUNE 30, ARMENPRESS. The Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan on June 30 awarded sculptor Arto Chakmajian with “Arshile Gorky” medal. The Diaspora Ministry of the Republic of Armenia informed Armenpress that highly appreciating Arto Chakmajian’s contribution to the preservation of Armenians, presentation of the Armenian culture to the world Hranush Hakobyan noted in particular: “It is a great honor for me to introduce one of the greatest masters of art sculptor Arto Chakmajian who lived part of his life in Armenia, another part- in Canada but has been always tied with firm threads to his homeland. The name of Chakmajian long ago came out of the frames of the Armenian world and has become one of the greatest phenomena on the world culture”.
