Armenia and Minsk Group Co-Chairs interpret some principles similarly, Azerbaijan –
differently

YEREVAN, JUNE 18, ARMENPRESS. President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan wants a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as soon as possible, which, however, does not imply, that it should be done by all means and in any conditions. During the Public TV’s “Hartsazruyc” program, in response to Nver Mnatsakanyan’s question: "A few days ago the twentieth anniversary of the cease-fire was marked, it is twenty years that relative peace is established in this region, it is twenty years that negotiations are being held between the two countries, eventually, what results are to be expected from this negotiations”, Serzh Sargsyan answered: "You know, the most concrete result is the twenty-year-long peace. Yes, it is poor peace, shaky peace, from time to time our brilliant boys die. But shaky peace is preferable than any war. Any negotiations are preferable rather than military actions. Yes, the negotiations are slow and our desire is that a day before the problem is solved, but not at any price and on any terms".

As reports “Armenpress”, according to the President’s deep conviction, the slowdown of negotiations is due to the fact that Armenia and Azerbaijan interpret in different ways the principles suggested by the Minsk Group Co-Chairs as a basis for the solution of the problem.
