YEREVAN, MAY 29, ARMENPRESS. The treaty on Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union will be signed soon. As reports "Armenpress”, this was stated by the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, summarizing the results of the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, held on May 29, in Astana.

The Presidents of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus signed a treaty on Eurasian Economic Union which will come into effect on January 1, 2015. 

Putin said that the sides at the session discussed "the issue of expanding the circle of the participants in the Eurasian Union, discussed the draft treaty on Armenia’s accession to it". This document is to be approved and signed in the nearest future. The Armenian side would like to do it in June, in general, we agreed. We expect that shortly after the functioning of the Union, Armenia will manage to become its full member" - Putin said.

Summit participants also discussed other international partners, including the prospects of cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. "Kyrgyzstan has a chance to join our union" – added the President of the Russian Federation.

"We agreed to intensify negotiations on a free trade zone with Vietnam, to strengthen cooperation with PRC, including the exchange of customs information on goods and services, as well as to form expert groups that will deal with the preparation of preferential trade regimes with Israel and India” - Putin said, RIA Novosti reported.
