Stepanakert waiting for Co-Chairs and real suggestion to participate in talks

YEREVAN, MAY 14, ARMENPRESS. The Nagorno Karabakh authorities are expecting the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to visit Stepanakert as well. Davit Babayan, the Press Secretary of the President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, stated this in a conversation with “Armenpress”. “Yes, it is considered that the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs will pay a visit. We are waiting for the Co-Chairs in Stepanakert as well,” Davit Babayan noted.

Responding the question if they are expecting a real suggestion from the Co-Chairs taking into consideration the recent conversation about the necessity of Nagorno Karabakh’s participation in the talks, Davit Babayan underscored that they also put forward such suggestion and they are convinced that the imperative will be realized sooner or later. “This is not a suggestion, this is an imperative for the conflict’s regulation and we are hopeful that the distorted format of the negotiations will be changed soon,” Babayan emphasized.

Earlier it was reported that the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs will arrive in Yerevan on May 16. As reports “Armenpress”, the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Balayan made a note on this in his Twitter page.

The visit targets to promote the process of settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Previously it was reported that the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs (Ambassadors Igor Popov of the Russian Federation, Jacques Faure of France, and James Warlick of the United States of America) issued a joint statement on 20th anniversary of ceasefire agreement.
