YEREVAN, APRIL 23, ARMENPRESS: The Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople released an official statement commenting on the Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s address to Armenians. Armenpress reports citing the Turkish “Anadolu” Agency that the Patriarchate informed in the spread address that this statement may become a cornerstone for the bridge to be constructed between the relations of Turkey and Armenia . “Our honorable Prime Minister opened a new page in the Armenian-Turkish relations by this statement. He displayed respect to the memory of Muslim and non-Muslim Ottoman citizens who tasted the pains of war in the heart of Anatolia,” the message of the Patriarchate states. The Patriarchate also urged Turkey's opponents to interpret the message correctly staying far from hatred and enmity statements. Commenting on the message spread by the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople, Doctor of History Aram Ananyan said: “This is an evidence for two phenomena. The first one is that at this moment Turkey’s propaganda tools are aimed at raising greater noise than Erdogan's statement which said nothing. The second one is that seeing that the statement found no support among Armenians, Turkey tries to create an impression that Erdogan’s statement will be supported by Armenians. The statement of the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople first of all tries to solve this issue”. Aram Ananyan assures that the development of things showed that the previous day Erdogan revealed the second face of his message by 3-4 statements about which there was nothing in the previous one. So, the thesis that it has just a propaganda purpose was proved entirely as if Turkey’s intentions were noble, there were hundreds of instruments to normalize relations with Armenia.
