YEREVAN, APRIL 24, ARMENPRESS. The crimes like the Armenian Genocide in legal sense have no limitation period. In the interview with the journalists at Tsitsernakaberd  Memorial Complex, this was said by the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Armenia, lawyer Tigran Mukuchyan. As to the basic principles of the law, according to him, they are simple: "If there is damage, which can be both material and human, and in the widest meanings, then definitely it supposes the compensation issue which can be both material and moral” – reports "Armenpress" citing Mukuchyan.

To the question of whether Armenia is too civilized to speak about the compensation mechanisms, Mukuchyan answered that today we are announcing about the Armenian Genocide to the whole world, transmitting from generation to generation and remembering this day, raising our voices. So, in his opinion, it is first of all a moral problem for the Armenians, to be recognized and properly evaluated by the world. Mukuchyan believes that this is much more subjective, and perhaps this is the very basis that we, preserving it from generation to generation, have transferred it to one another.
